The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce wants Illinois and Iowa to help coordinate the reopening of the local economy.
President and CEO, Paul Rumler, says the vast majority of non-essential businesses are ready to reopen with restrictions to protect workers and customers. But so far, the states have responded differently to the pandemic.
He says it'll be chaotic and confusing for restaurants, bars, retailers, and other businesses in the Quad Cities to open on different dates.
The chamber is also asking the states to increase COVID-19 testing, and for help with supplies of non-medical PPE to help prevent price gouging and shortages.

Rumler says Quad Cities companies are prepared to reopen safely and responsibly.
And they've done their part to follow all state guidelines and recommendations.
