Day Sponsorship

A Day Sponsorship is an opportunity to share a personal on-air message as a thank-you for your generous support of WVIK. To qualify, make a gift of $365 or more, and once your pledge is fulfilled, you'll be able to reserve a day for your message to air.

Availability is limited to one sponsor per day, with some blackout dates during membership drives. Please note that a minimum of two weeks is required to reserve, produce, and schedule your message.

Your personal announcement is a 15-second (maximum) message read by the WVIK staff, and consists of recognition of the member, a birthday announcement, an anniversary or memorial tribute. A member of the WVIK staff will work with you to create your message to ensure the station adheres to federal guidelines for public radio.

We’ll craft your message according to the information you provide. Here are a few examples of how your message will be formatted.

Birthday:
EXAMPLE: “Today’s programming is sponsored by WVIK member Mark Jones, in recognition of Jane Smith’s forty-fourth birthday.”

Marriage/Anniversary:
EXAMPLE: “Today’s programming is sponsored by WVIK member Mark Jones, in recognition of Jane and John Smith’s forty-fourth wedding anniversary.”

Memorial:
EXAMPLE: “Today’s programming is sponsored by WVIK member Mark Jones, in memory of his mother, Susan.”

Milestone:
EXAMPLE: “Today’s programming is sponsored by WVIK member Mark Jones, congratulating Jane Smith on her college graduation.”

EXAMPLE: “Today’s programming is sponsored by WVIK member Mark Jones, congratulating Jane and John Smith on the birth of their daughter, Sally.”
