school board elections / Clinton County

Election officials in Iowa are preparing for combined school board and city elections in the fall.

Board of education elections used to be held in September. But in 2017, Iowa lawmakers passed a law to hold them in November on the same day as city elections.

So this month, Clinton County mailed new voter registration cards to voters so they'll know where to cast their ballots.

Scott County is trying to save money by cutting school board election costs. The Auditor's Office announced today voting times and staff will be reduced for Tuesday's election.

Races are now set for next month's school board election in the Iowa Quad Cities. Four seats are open on each board, following last week's filing deadline.

In the Davenport School District, there are only three candidates-- incumbents Linda Hayes and board president Ralph Johanson are seeking re-election. Joining them on the ballot will be Dan Gosa.
