The republican challenger for governor will visit the Quad Cities and western Illinois on Friday. State Representative Jeanne Ives from Wheaton has scheduled stops in Moline and Galesburg.

Some residents of Moline are being warned to prepare for possible flooding. Ice jams in the Rock River near the I-74 bridge are causing the level of the river to rise.
