Minor to major flooding continues in eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois.

Hydrologist, Matt Wilson, from the Quad Cities National Weather Service says minor and moderate flooding continues from Dubuque downstream to LeClaire.

"At LeClaire, we do expect it to drop out of moderate flood stage by early on May 12th and then drop out of flood stage entirely by early on May 15th. At the Rock Island gauge, we do expect it to drop below major flood stage sometime within the next 24 hours and then drop out of moderate flood stage by sometime near the end of the 7-day forecast window, probably late on the 16th."

Downstream from the Quad Cities to Burlington, major flooding is occurring, except for Muscatine where the water has dropped to moderate levels.

Wilson is planning ahead to begin surveying flood crests and damage throughout his agency's service area. You can listen to him discuss what's involved in the process by clicking the blue "play/LISTEN" button above.
