Even though the annual Memorial Day ceremony will not be held, the National Cemetery on Arsenal Island will be open this weekend. It will be open for visitors from 8 am until 8 pm Saturday through Monday.
All visitors must enter through the Moline gate, are limited to no more than six in each vehicle, and groups in the cemetery cannot be large than ten.
The National Cemetery is not marking graves this year, but will allow people to bring flowers, flags, and other items to mark the graves of loved ones. Visitors can also put flowers and flags on other graves.
Instead of a public ceremony on Monday, a Memorial Day address (video) by the Commmanding General of First Army, Lieutenant General Thomas James, is available HERE.
