COVID-19 testing in Rock Island has been extended by two days. The site opened on June 29th, and was originally scheduled to close this Friday. But now, it will continue through Sunday (7/12).

The drive-through test site is located at the QCCA Expo Center in Rock Island, and will be opened from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm every day. Patients will recieve results over the phone, usually within 3-4 days.

Photo I-D and contact information are required.

This testing site is made possible by the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Rock Island County Emergency Management Agency, the QCCA Expo Center, and the Rock Island County Health Department.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
