Local health officials are concerned that Quad Cities residents are getting tired of hand-washing, staying home, cleaning, wearing masks, and staying away from other people.
The Rock Island and Scott county health departments report the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise. The total number of confirmed cases as of Wednesday afternoon is 822, with 24 deaths.

Ed Rivers, Director of the Scott County Health Department, says he's worried about message fatigue. But he encourages everyone to continue to follow CDC and state recommendations.
Nita Ludwig, health department administrator, says Rock Island County is in the north central region of the governor's Restore Illinois plan.
And it's currently in the second of five phases to reopen.
The governor and state health officials will decide when each region will be allowed to advance to the next phase.
But she says, "You have the power to influence the governor's decision. The Quad Cities could be a bright spot in the huge region if residents take the messages we've been saying for weeks now to heart. In fact, Ed already has given you your daily reminder to remain at a social distance and wash your hands, etc. Just know that your personal decisions will affect more than just you."
