Texture and Form—Explore the exciting world of texture and form in this hands-on workshop! Students will experiment with both real and visual textures using mixed media and found materials. From rough to smooth, bumpy to soft, they’ll learn how different textures can add interest and feeling to their artwork. Perfect for artists who love to touch, create, and experiment!

Come learn to make your own hard-cover notebook or sketchbook at Bluff Strokes Art Center! We’ll walk through the steps of building a cover, wrapping it in decorative paper, folding and stitching-in pages, and binding it all together into a final product. No previous art or book-making experience is required. You’ll leave with a skill set you can use for gifts this Holiday Season, as well!

Using recycled and found materials students will create a personalized book called a junk journal. This art journaling technique incorporates collage and story-telling through ephemera (anything from scraps of pretty papers, old magazines and envelopes to personal photos and memorabilia. There are no rules!). This one-of-a-kind, eclectic book will provide an outlet for creative expression, self-awareness, memory-keeping, and relaxation.
