On the morning of May 5th, officers responded to a call about an unknown problem at a house on the 1800 block of 31st Street in Moline. They found 17-year old Giovanni Flores and 19-year old Zachary Meincke dead from gunshot wounds in the basement.
Police Chief Darren Gault says officers had also visited the house earlier that night for a noise complaint.
"For the past 16 days, the Moline Police Department has been pursuing justice for these victims and their families," he said. "Hundreds of leads and interviews, 16 days of agonies for the families not knowing."

Early Tuesday morning, police arrested 20-year old Israel Martinez. The Davenport man is accused of killing both Moline teenagers. He's charged with seven counts, including two counts of first degree murder.
Gault says officers carried out two search warrants, one in East Moline and another in Davenport.
"I'm proud of the work done by the officers of the Moline Police Department," Gault said. "What I can tell you is if you commit acts of violence in the city of Moline, we will hunt you down. Sometimes it takes hours, sometimes it takes days, sometimes it takes years, we will find you."
Martinez is being held in Scott County jail, awaiting extradition to Illinois.
