Chris McCormick-Pries is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and mentor at Vera French. She says the second location has already improved visibility and accessibility to mental health care. The warm and welcoming decor of counseling rooms, offices, and other space help make clients more comfortable when sharing their concerns and difficulties.

Russell Construction sold the building to Vera French at a reduced price. And McCormick-Pries says the staff now provides the same services as its Central Park clinic in Davenport.

Vera French has already hired six more psychiatric nurse practitioners to help meet the growing needs of the community.

Whole health begins with mental health.

McCormick-Pries likes to say, "Whole health begins with mental health." And the services available from Vera French agencies range from out-patient counseling to residential mental health care, plus affordable housing.

The organization also plans to renovate the Vera French Central Park clinic in Davenport. Late last month, it closed the Terrace Ridge clinic in Davenport and moved into the Duck Creek clinic. With additional space, it'll be able to add substance use disorder treatment and expand support groups.
