Moline Parks and Recreation Department
Parks Director Eric Griffith says the city and General Constructors will break ground this spring. The new amenities include three water slides, a lazy river, splash pad, concessions, lights, shared park shelter, and restrooms.
The Moline Parks and Recreation Department conducted a survey and held public meetings. And Griffith says residents said the pool and aquatic park are their top priorities. He's excited about the water slides because for years, the Riverside pool was well-known for its slide which was closed in 2009 or 2010.
Half of the $6.8 million dollar cost will come from Moline reserve funds, with the other half from a bond sale.
