A circular glass feature for the overlook called, "the oculus" is now in place. On Facebook today, the bridge team posted photos of workers delivering the four segments, manufactured by East Moline Glass.
After the eastbound lanes opened in December, the pedestrian and bike path was supposed to open before the end of the year. But shipping delays and decisions about safety delayed it.
The I-74 River Bridge team says next, seating and decorative sculptures will be installed. And it should open this spring.
