QCSO and Yo-Yo Ma

A big idea, and six months of phone calls, have paid off for the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Thursday night (5/14) it will celebrate the end of its 100th season with a concert, featuring cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

A summer theater group needs help raising money so it can receive a grant as part of its endowment campaign. Tomorrow night, the Genesius Guild will host an Art Treasures  auction in Davenport.

RME Successful Fund Drive

An organization devoted to featuring live music, and music education, has just concluded a successful fund drive. A two-month campaign by the River Music Experience in Davenport ended March 31st, and it reached its goal of 62,000 dollars.

Landmarks Illinois

One of the most iconic statues in Illinois is in trouble. The preservation group, Landmarks Illinois, is calling attention to the deteriorating condition of the Blackhawk Statue in Ogle County.

This weekend, one of Iowa's most famous paintings begins a European tour after having a facelift of sorts. Jackson Pollock's "Mural" spent a few years at Davenport's Figge Art Museum due to a flood in Iowa City.
