Longfellow School put on temporary lockdown

Longfellow School was put on lockdown after a report of someone with a gun hiding on the property.

In a news release, Rock Island police say officers responded to the school around 11:30 am. Once they searched the school, officers determined there was no one with a gun there.

Police say the person that had been reported is a minor. They were found in the area and taken into custody.

Rock Island police are investigating.
