Scott County woman killed in three-car crash

A rural Scott County woman was killed in a three-car crash Tuesday afternoon.

Around 1:20 pm, the Scott County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a crash on US-67, between Bettendorf and LeClaire.

The sheriff's office says 70-year old Karen Dugan was killed. Her vehicle was in the left lane to turn left, when a second car hit it from behind. That pushed her car into oncoming traffic, where it was hit again on the passenger side by a third car going the other way.

Dugan was pronounced dead at the scene. The other drivers were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say all three drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and they're investigating.
