A new urgent care clinic is set to open next month in Davenport.

It's one of two University of Iowa Health Care clinics coming to the Quad Cities next year. The other, in Bettendorf, is expected to open before the end of next summer.

That's according to Rachel Kirchner, director of clinical services at U-I Community Clinics. She says each year, current clinics in the Quad Cities hold nearly 60,000 clinical visits.

She says--quote--"the biggest piece of feedback we've received so far is how grateful people are to have these urgent care services in their own backyards."

The new University of Iowa clinic in Davenport will be located at 2705 East 53rd Street, and the Bettendorf clinic will be on Lincoln Road. The clinics are hiring for both locations.

Rachel graduated from Michigan State University's J-School and has a background in broadcast and environmental journalism. Before WVIK, she worked for WKAR Public Media, Great Lakes Now, and more. In her free time, she likes to cook, hike, and hang out with her cat.
