UPDATE: Rock Island police say a missing 13-year-old boy has been found

The department says, "[I]nformation was received as to his whereabouts. He is in good health and in the process of being reunited with his family. The Rock Island Police Department would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance."

The department says Luis Gonzalez is Hispanic, six feet tall, 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He also suffers from autism. Police say Gonzalez was last seen Monday night around 7:45 when he left the YWCA in the 200 block of 16th Street in Rock Island. He was wearing a black coat with hood, a black "Kings" Jersey, gray pants, and gray and black tennis shoes. Video also shows him on 20th Street and 3rd Avenue, walking to the north.

The Rock Island police are asking anyone with information to call the police department at 309.732.2677 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

Officially, Michelle's title for 28 years was WVIK News Editor. She did everything there is to do in the newsroom and whatever was needed around the radio station. She also served as Acting News Director from September 2023 - January 2024.
