After police evacuated Maquoketa Caves State Park this morning due to a shooting, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says there is no danger to the public. But the agency is investigating a triple homicide and an apparent suicide.
Around 6:30 am, Jackson County Sheriff's deputies found three bodies at the campground. And officers found the body of 23-year-old Anthony Sherwin west of the park. And it appears he shot himself.
The Maquoketa Caves State Park is closed until further notice. The Des Moines Register reports it will be closed until July 28th.
