Over 20 vendors selling crafts, home products, food, and other items will set up shop at the German American Heritage Center and Museum (GAHC) this Saturday, Sept. 28th, on the fourth floor of its museum, located at 712 W 2nd Street in Davenport.
GAHC Assistant Director and Curator Clare Tobin says the center is continuing its new addition of a fall vendor fair. For years, the center has held a vendor fair in the spring and winter. Tobin says community interest in fall decor and baked goods gave them the idea of adding a Herbstmarkt, which means autumn market.
The fair is free to attend, and Tobin says there is a variety of vendors, including a mobile coffee truck.
"...[W]e have a vendor who does bratwurst and some other baked goods. And so their stuff is really delicious," Tobin said in an interview with WVIK. "We have a lot of, they call themselves the church ladies and they do a lot of baking. And so there's cookies and breads and really yummy stuff. I tend to go for the food, but the decorations and a lot of great gift options for people, if they want to get some shopping done early."
Tobin says the parking lot attached to the center and street parking are available.
The fair starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. Visitors can explore the German American Heritage Museum until 4 p.m. as admission is free on Saturday.
