FEMA Opens Disaster Recovery Center in Bettendorf

Federal officials are encouraging derecho victims in Scott County to register for finanancial assistance. On Thursday, representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, will open a Disaster Recovery Center in Bettendorf. 

Because of the pandemic, the center will offer drive-through service. People should wear face coverings and stay in their cars. 

It's not necessary to go to the center to apply for financial help. Storm victims may register online at http://www.disasterassistance.gov. And the phone number to call to register for FEMA help is 800.621.3362. FEMA also has a mobile app for smartphones. 

The Disaster Recovery Center will be located at the Bettendorf Community Civic Center at 22-04 Grant Street. The entrance to the parking lot is on 22nd Street and Mississippi Boulevard. And it'll be open Monday through Saturday, 9 am until 6 pm. 

Registration applications and documents may also be sent in other ways.
