Genesis Health System and a central Iowa retirement company will create a new nonprofit to serve seniors in the Quad Cities. On Wednesday in Silvis, officials from Genesis and Wesley Life announced plans to build new retirement communities in Bettendorf and Moline.

Glen Roebuck is the Executive Director of Home, Outpatient, and Senior Living Services for Genesis.
He says 72 years ago, Johnston-based Wesley Life began as a nonprofit serving Methodist ministers.
It has expanded to own and operate eight residential retirement communities with a broad range of services.
Roebuck says nearly 200 employees will be affected next summer when they start working for the new nonprofit.
They currently work for Genesis at Illini Restorative Care and Crosstown Square apartments in Silvis, plus the West Wing Place campus in DeWitt.
The name of the new organization will be announced later.
