Evening News for Tuesday, January 2, 2018

tonight's headlines:

  • Monday was the coldest New Year's Day ever in the Quad Cities,
  • for the rest of the winter, it should be colder than normal,
  • and backers of Nate Boulton for governor campaign in eastern Iowa.

Tonight: up to a half inch of show possible with a low around 11, with wind chills to -10. On Wednesday, sunny and cold with temperatures falling to near 4 by afternoon.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
