An arrest has been made for what police are calling a double homicide. Monday afternoon 39 year old John Conwell was taken into custody in Davenport, on a warrant from Rock Island charging him with two counts of first degree murder.
Sunday night officers went to check on the residents of a home in the 1,200 block of 29th Street in Rock Island, and found two bodies - his grandmother, 90 year old Eleanor Conwell, and his uncle, 69 year old Steve Conwell.
John Conwell is being held in the Scott County jail awaiting extradition to Illinois. His bond is 5 million dollars.
