The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a wind advisory which is in effect until 5 p.m. It's for eastern Iowa plus Jo Daviess, Mercer & Rock Island counties in Illinois.
* Winds...West to northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 45 mph.
* Timing...Today through sunset.
* Impacts...Travel may become difficult and loose objects will be blown around.
* Preparedness & precautionary actions...A wind advisory means winds of 30 mph or more are expected which could make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution if you are traveling.
