A new chief has been chosen for the Davenport Police Department, at least on an interim basis. This afternoon, City Administrator Corri Spiegel announced the appointment of Major Paul Sikorski.
He is a 27 year veteran of the department, and will take over August first from Don Schaeffer who's retiring after 44 years of service.
Just last March, Sikorski was appointed assistant chief of the department, after serving as commander of the Patrol Division. He's also led the Services Division and worked as a supervisor in the Criminal Investigation Division.
