Illinois Comptroller Campaigns in Moline

Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger campaigned in the Quad Cities Wednesday, alongside candidates for state senate and house. Munger asked for support for her "No Budget, No Pay" bill, that would stop Illinois lawmakers from being paid, until a full, balanced budget is passed.

In April, Munger announced constitutional officers and members of the General Assembly would have to wait in line to be paid along with other state vendors.
Also campaigning with Munger in Moline Wednesday were State Senator Neil Anderson, and candidates for Illinois State Representative, Brandi McGuire and Tony McCombie.

She says it's great to see so many women supporting the effort.

Munger says Illinois has not passed a truly balanced budget in over 10 years. And, she recently announced Illinois will begin the new year with about $10 billion in unpaid bills.

Munger spoke at the Rock Island County GOP's Headquarters in downtown Moline Wednesday afternoon.
