Republicans in Rock Island County want to make sure the general election is fair and honest. So, members of the party are watching as voters cast their ballots.

Summary
Bill Bloom, Chair of the county GOP, says party members are recruiting volunteers to be poll watchers. Many have already been trained and given credentials.
Bloom and other GOP leaders are also looking for republicans to serve as judges on November 8th. It's a long day, usually from around 5 am until 8 pm or later.
No matter which party they belong to or which candidate they work for, poll watchers have the right to observe how the election is being run. For example, they must be allowed to compare signatures along with the judges. And if they believe a person is not qualified to vote in that precinct, they may issue a challenge to the election judges. Poll watchers are also entitled to receive a copy of the vote totals.
