Bush Speaks at Scott County GOP Dinner

If elected president, Jeb Bush says he would "disrupt every aspect" of Washington DC. The Republican presidential candidate campaigned at the annual Scott County Ronald Reagan Dinner in Bettendorf tonight, and proposed a six-year ban on lobbying for former members of Congress.

The former Florida governor proposes a federal balanced budget amendment and term limits for Congress. He says the main goal is returning power to the states.
Bush says he wants to "downsize Washington," and already has experience "shrinking government." In his eight years as governor, Florida's economy grew at a rate of over four-percent, while the government shrunk by 11-percent.

He says in Florida they called him "Veto Corleone."

Bush says the next steps are simplifying the tax code, and embracing what he calls the "energy revolution." He added it's "ridiculous" that people are fighting the Keystone XL Pipeline.

Bush spoke to a crowd of 500 at the 7th annual Scott County Ronald Reagan Dinner.
