Quad Cities Congresswoman Cheri Bustos blames the Senate Majority Leader for delays in passing bills to help the post office and provide COVID relief.
The U.S. representative from Moline says two weeks ago, the House passed a bill to require the post office to return to operating like it did at the beginning of the year.
She says the bill is sitting on Mitch McConnell's desk along with hundreds of others.
More than three months ago, Bustos voted for the Heroes Act, another House bill. It's a $3 trillion COVID-19 relief package that includes money for local governments to pay first responders and other bills. But she has no idea what might be in a Senate version.
She says that's also the case with an appropriations bill that must pass before the end of the fiscal year on September 30th.
Bustos is working in the Quad Cities Wednesday before meetings in Freeport and Rockford on Thursday.
