At the former Office Max store in Davenport, volunteers and Salvation Army staff help people gather items to help them recover from flooding. (file)

Starting Monday, the Flood Donation and Distribution Center will no longer be open at the former Office Max store in Davenport. Instead, the donation center will move to the Salvation Army's locations in Davenport and Moline. (Other agencies such as FEMA and the SBA will not move.)

Help will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9 am until 5 pm until there's no longer a need. People may also drop off donations during those hours. Some of the items flood victims continue to need include box fans, dehumidifiers, cleaning supplies, bleach, and vinegar.

In Davenport, the address is 3400 West Central Park Avenue. And in Moline, the address is 2200 5th Avenue.

People who live and work in Scott County can get state help to recover from flash flooding and other severe weather during the second half of May.

The Scott County Emergency Management Agency says property owners, renters, and others may be eligible for the Iowa Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Management Program.

The assistance is specifically for damage from severe weather from May 17th and later, including flash flooding, heavy rain, hail, and strong winds.

People should contact Community Action of Eastern Iowa to apply for help through the Disaster Case Management Program. And for the individual grant program, they should contact the Iowa Department of Human Services

This state disaster assistance is not the same as help available for those affected by river flooding from mid-March through May 16th.
