Drivers may want to avoid using Moline's River Drive at I-74 for the next couple of months.
Michelle O'Neill reports, starting Tuesday, the Illinois DOT will close the eastbound off-ramp.
The River Drive work is part of the new I-74 bridge project. Engineer Ryan Hippen says Moline's River Drive off-ramp will be closed until March 5th for construction of two piers.
Also for two weeks, the contractor, Kraemer North America, will periodically close the River Drive on-ramp to I-74. But Hippen says that work will be done from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, not during rush hour.
The detours in Moline for the River Drive ramp closures include using the 7th Avenue exits and ramps.
The Illinois DOT will use message boards to tell drivers when to avoid the area.
Drivers should also watch for flaggers on River Drive during the intermittent on-ramp closures. For Quad Cities traffic cameras, go HERE.
