A Davenport police officer shot and injured a suspect early this morning, but the man is expected to live.
Around four am, someone reported a 43-year-old man with a handgun was walking in the 2800 block of Arlington Avenue. He was apparently walking toward Locust Street and Grand Avenue to find a woman who filed a restraining order against him.
The officer arrived, spotted the suspect in the 2100 block of Grand Avenue, and attempted to approach him. Police say the man pulled out the gun and exchanged fire with the officer.
After disarming him, the man was taken to Genesis East Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The Scott County sheriff department is investigating.
