Moline Gets Help with Transportation & Development

wvik staff

The federal government will help Moline improve transportation. The U.S. DOT and Federal Transit Agency chose Moline and eight other cities to receive special assistance.

City Planner Jeff Anderson says Moline will work with public and private sector experts in transportation and development. They'll come to Moline for a one-day workshop about how to encourage development around and near transit hubs, such as the new Amtrak station.

The experts and workshop will help Moline with Phase II of its riverfront development plan. And MetroLink is a big part of it.

Anderson says the new train station and Amtrak service will be regional assets, and officials from all over the Quad Cities will attend the transportation workshop.
