The renovation and expansion of the Galesburg Amtrak station is now complete. The 14-hundred square feet was added to the 31-year old building.
City spokesman Kraig Boynton says the station, which is also the terminal for Burlington Trailways buses, was expanded on the north and south sides.
The entire station is also now ADA compliant.
Boynton says construction on the Galesburg Amtrak station began in March, and the total cost was 882-thousand dollars, funded through the Illinois DOT.
