A 27-year veteran of the Davenport Police Department is the new assistant chief. Chief Don Schaeffer has announced the promotion of Captain Paul Sikorski to the rank of major, and to the number two spot in the department.
That's the position formerly held by Schaeffer until his promotion last year.
Before the promotion, Sikorski served as commander of the Patrol Division, and on the command staff for the Emergency Services Team.
He's also led the Services Division, and worked as a supervisor in the Criminal Investigation Division.
