So far, Augustana College officials are pleased with the way students and employees are handling new rules due to COVID-19.
During a video briefing this morning (below), Dean Wes Brooks, said more 614 people have been tested for the coronavirus, and three tested positive over the past week. One test result was inconclusive. Since the beginning of the fall semester, the campus has had a total of six positive tests.
He also announced a new restriction on students going to Rock Island's Arts and Entertainment District. They should avoid bars in the District, and only go to restaurants with outdoor seating.
Brooks also says students should stay on campus as much as possible through September 28th. All the new restrictions and guidelines announced today are online HERE.
Augustana has 18 students in quarantine and four in isolation. Its COVID-19 results are based solely on testing done on campus by Genesis Health System.
The college plans to update its numbers HERE once a week, on Mondays.
