Longoria Will Give Commencement Address at Knox

Knox College

An actress, producer, and philanthropist will give this year's commencement address at Knox College in Galesburg.

Eva Longoria is perhaps best known for her role on the television show, "Desperate Housewives," but has also starred in films, directed tv shows, founded the Eva Longoria Foundation to help Latinas build better futures for themselves, and co-founded Eva's Heroes, which works with those with special needs.

This year's commencement at Knox College will be held on Sunday June 4th.

Longoria joins a long list of well-known commencement speakers at the college, including US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, President Bill Clinton, comedian Stephen Colbert, and then-US Senator Barack Obama.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
