Expanded QC-Iowa City Bus Service

Traveling between the Quad Cities and Iowa City will be easier starting next week.  Currently River Bend Transit offers bus service from Davenport to Iowa City on Mondays, but beginning August 18, it will add Tuesdays through Fridays.

Executive director Randy Zobrist says the expanded service is made possible by a federal Clean Air grant.

Research shows there's a great demand for this service on more than just one day per week.

We hope passengers will include people with medical appointments, veterans, and college students.

Stops in Iowa City will include University of Iowa Hospitals and medical clinics, the VA hospital, the university and downtown.

On Tuesdays, River Bend buses will depart from Northpark Mall at 8 am, and return at 4 pm. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday departures are set for 6:30 am, with the return to Davenport at 4 pm.
Reservations are "strongly recommended."

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
