The Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society will hold its 45th annual jazz festival in a new location next year. Less than a week after this year's festival wrapped up, the jazz society announced the 2016 festival will be held at Bettendorf's Waterfront Convention Center and Isle of Capri.
President Michael Boyler says he would have preferred to keep the festival at the Davenport Rivercenter, where it's been held since 2012. But, the Rivercenter had to cancel due to a scheduling conflict.
Still, he's relieved to have found a new venue.
Boyler says the rest of the event should stay the same as previous years, including free performances at LeClaire Park in Davenport, and a memorial service at BixBeiderbecke's grave site.
He says the memorial society is currently working on a line-up for next year, and has yet to make plans for 2017.
