Combined Federal Campaign Results

Illowa CFC

Federal workers in eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois have raised nearly $350,000 for local, national, and international charities.
Spokeswoman Linda Loebach says pledges from the annual Illowa Bi-State Combined Federal Campaign fell behind last year.

Each year, the CFC fundraising campaign runs from October through December. It asks federal, military, and postal employees in Illinois and Iowa to donate money. This year 42 percent of the money will stay in the Quad Cities, going to charities such as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, and the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Last year, these workers gave $500,000 to the Combined Federal Campaign.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
