A surprise gift will help Habitat for Humanity build another new home in the Quad Cities. An anonymous donor, from another state, has pledged 60,000 dollars to honor Pope Francis for his commitment to social justice, and in the donor's words, "re-invigorating the Catholic Church."
Director of development, Dougal Nelson, says the local chapter learned of the generous gift when it got a call from an affiliate.

Nelson says each Habitat project in this area costs about 100,000 dollars so the Quad Cities chapter will soon begin a campaign to raise 40,000 dollars - from Catholics and others in our community.
And he hopes the new home, honoring Pope Francis, will be built next year.
