WVIK's General Manager and CEO will retire at the end of the month after eleven years leading the Quad Cities NPR affiliate.

Today, Augustana College, the radio station's license-holder, announced Jay Pearce's last day will be October 28th.

Station Manager, Jared Johnson, will serve as interim general manager through the end of the year.

WVIK will host a reception to honor Pearce on Tuesday, October 25th from 4 to 7 pm.

The year before Pearce began his position as WVIK general manager in October, 2012, Kai Swanson served as the radio station's interim general manager after the departure of Frank Sundram who had served as general manager since 2008.

Previous general managers include Lowell Dorman and the station's co-founder, Don Wooten.

Officially, Michelle's title for 28 years was WVIK News Editor. She did everything there is to do in the newsroom and whatever was needed around the radio station. She also served as Acting News Director from September 2023 - January 2024.
