Many, many people associated with Augustana College remember former President Thomas Tredway as a teacher, mentor, and leader. Former Illinois State Senator Don Wooten remembers him as a friend, AND co-founder of WVIK. Tredway died on Sunday.
About eight years ago, Tredway wrote a biography about one of his predecessors, Conrad Bergendoff. And Wooten and the late Roald Tweet interviewed him about it.
Wooten asked what if he wrote Tredway's biography? How would working for him affect his ability to be objective? Along with a lot of laughter, Tredway said he thought Wooten would do an admirable job, but then joked Tweet's would be better.
During his retirement, Tredway also wrote a history of Augustana.
