The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce is hosting the four day festival with over 120 events at local businesses and venues.
The Director of the Downtown Davenport Partnership is Jason Gilliland. "We want to get people out and about and give them some opportunities to explore and find some new artists and maybe some different things that they haven't been exposed to."
Alternating Currents features live bands, arts, comedy, and film screenings.
Gilliland says starting Thursday and through Sunday, attendees of the festival can visit more than 25 indoor and outdoor venues from the Figge Art Museum to the Davenport Skybridge. "There might be six different bands playing at the same time throughout the downtown. So you need to pick and choose what you are doing and who you want see and go from there. That's really the big thing, is creating your schedule ahead of time."
Gilliland encourages those planning to attend any of the events to check out the "Alternating Currents 2022" app (available for Apple and Android) which offers a way to check out events and artists ahead of time and create a schedule on the app, for a better experience.
