Dave Barajas, Business Development Director, says nearly 20 years ago, his father founded the bakery in Rock Falls. It has hosted cake sale fundraisers in central Iowa. But now the company wants to help GiGi's Playhouse in the Quad Cities. It's a nonprofit and achievement center that serves those with Down Syndrome and advocates for them.
The Dave's Coffee Cake Cake Sale to benefit GiGi's Playhouse will run Saturday from 7 am until 3 pm at the Hy-Vee grocery store on the Avenue of the Cities in Moline.
Then Barajas will present a check to GiGi's on Tuesday, which is World Down Syndrome Day.
