In December, the Moline City Countil approved a contract with Metronet. One of the keys to approval was the company must provide 100% coverage across the city.

Moline hired a consultant to negotiate the terms of the deal, including details of MetroNet's rollout of the new internet service.

Previously, the city administrator said it'll take about a year for Metronet to install fiberoptic lines throughout Moline.
