After skipping last year due to the pandemic, the TaxSlayer Center has raised its annual a Christmas tree in downtown Moline. This morning, the TaxSlayer Center used a crane to lift the 40-foot-tall tree before workers cut it down to about 35 feet using a chainsaw.
The tree was donated by the Rogers family of East Moline. Now the decoration begins: the tree will eventually contain about 30,000 lights, which will be lit at the annual Lighting on the Commons ceremony later this month. The Ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 20th from 3:30 to 6:00 at John Deere Commons in Moline.
