Garbage Glam Contestants

On Saturday, October 5th, the Putnam hosts its second annual Garbage Glam fashion show event. The goal of the event is to help raise awareness about the waste and pollution within the fashion industry.

Lani Laster, third-place winner, says that it’s important to reuse materials we already have. "I think you should reuse just because, I don't
know, you learn new things. We make new things that you didn't think you would like."

There were seven designers who participated in the show. The only criteria for the outfits entered was that they needed to be made out of 70% of recycled materials. The first-place winner is Anka Snider, the second-place winner is Heather Doxstader, and the third-place winner is Brandy Dozier and Lani Laster.
