Tim McCloud has worked for the Rock Island Police Department for 30 years. He was appointed as the deputy chief of police in 2021, after serving as lieutenant for over ten years. McCloud previously held a variety of roles within the department, including several leadership positions, sergeant and detective.
He had been serving as interim chief of police after former police chief Richard Landi retired last month.
McCloud's appointment will go in front of the city council for approval at tonight's meeting.
